How to let Claude trade Hyperliquid — with your approval
Connect Claude (or ChatGPT) to Hyperliquid with a sign-in: paper trading right away, and real orders that you approve one by one before anything is sent.
The short answer
Add Vectorial Data Terminal as a connector in Claude (web, desktop or mobile) or ChatGPT, sign in with a Terminal account, and ask in plain language. Claude can trade on paper immediately, read your real Hyperliquid account, and propose real orders. Nothing real is sent until you approve that exact order in the Terminal with one tap. Claude can never deposit, withdraw or move money.
Connect it (two minutes)
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT, add a connector with developer mode.
- Paste this URL: https://terminal.vectorialdata.com/api/mcp
- Ask for something that needs your account (for example: "open a $50 BTC long on paper at 2x"). Claude shows a Connect button; sign in with your Terminal account and allow the connection.
- To allow real orders, check "Also allow real-money orders that you approve one by one" on the sign-in screen. It is off by default.
What happens with a real order
- Claude proposes the order: market, side, size in USD, leverage, and optionally a stop loss and take profit.
- You get a notification and a link. The Terminal shows the order exactly as it will be sent, with the price now.
- You tap Approve or Reject. The proposal expires after 15 minutes.
- On approval, the Terminal places it from your main account through the same path as its own trade ticket: same fees, same checks.
- Claude reads the result: filled (with size and average price), resting on the book, refused, or uncertain if the exchange did not confirm in time.
What Claude can and cannot do
- Can: see markets and prices; trade on paper with real prices; see your Terminal balance, positions and open orders (if you allow real orders); propose real perpetual-futures orders — open, close, add a stop loss or take profit, cancel an order.
- Cannot: send any real order without your approval; deposit, withdraw or move funds; place prediction-market orders or use Earn from a connected app; raise its own permissions.
- Your agent's limits (maximum order size, allowed markets) apply to every proposal, and its kill switch stops new ones.
Questions
- Can Claude trade Hyperliquid?
- Yes. Connect Vectorial Data Terminal as a connector in Claude and sign in. Claude can trade on paper right away and propose real Hyperliquid perpetual-futures orders, which you approve one by one in the Terminal before anything is sent.
- Can Claude move or withdraw my money?
- No. A connected app can only propose orders. Deposits, withdrawals and transfers are not available to it, and every real order needs your approval in the Terminal.
- Does it work in ChatGPT?
- It uses the same standard ChatGPT's connectors support (MCP with an OAuth sign-in): add https://terminal.vectorialdata.com/api/mcp as a connector and sign in. The permissions and approvals are the same.
- What does it cost?
- Paper trading is free. Real orders pay the same as any Terminal trade: 0.25% per perpetuals trade plus Hyperliquid's own fees.
