Can an AI trade Polymarket for you?
Yes, with limits. What Claude, ChatGPT or your own bot can do on Polymarket today: read odds and order books, or place orders from a wallet only your agent controls.
The short answer
An AI assistant can read Polymarket markets, prices and order books for you right now. Placing Polymarket orders needs a signer that holds keys, so today it works for your own bot (an agent with its own wallet), not from a chat app like Claude or ChatGPT.
Three ways, compared
- Read only, no account: add https://terminal.vectorialdata.com/api/mcp to any MCP client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor). The tools list_prediction_markets and get_prediction_book work without signing in.
- From Claude or ChatGPT with a Terminal sign-in: the app reads prediction markets, but it cannot place Polymarket orders. Real orders from a connected app are Hyperliquid perpetuals only, each approved by you.
- Your own bot: through the Vectorial Data Terminal Agent API or MCP, an agent trades Polymarket from a deposit wallet only its own wallet controls. It signs every order itself. Live only (no paper for predictions), with your limits and a kill switch.
Before you let a bot trade
- Polymarket does not allow trading from some countries, including the United States.
- Set a maximum order size and the markets your agent may trade; the server enforces them on every order.
- Keep the kill switch at hand: any key can pause the agent, and resuming takes the wallet's signature.
- Prediction-market orders through the Terminal pay a 1% builder fee, taken by Polymarket inside the fill, plus Polymarket's own fees.
Questions
- Can ChatGPT or Claude trade Polymarket for me?
- Not from the chat app today. They can read Polymarket markets and odds through the Vectorial Data Terminal connector. Placing Polymarket orders works for your own bot with its own wallet, through the Terminal's Agent API or MCP server.
- Is there an MCP server for Polymarket?
- Yes. Vectorial Data Terminal's MCP server (https://terminal.vectorialdata.com/api/mcp) includes Polymarket tools: markets and order books without signing in, and orders, positions and redemptions for agents with their own wallet.
- Who controls the funds?
- Your agent's own wallet. Its Polymarket deposit wallet is controlled only by that wallet, and every order is signed by it.
